Hello and welcome to Masterton Baptist Church. We are a community-based church located here in Masterton that loves to welcome our local people and also any visitors and immigrants to our town.
Our Beginning
Our Baptist community began here in Masterton in 1943. The very first wedding held in our church was in 1943 between a young American Marine stationed here in Masterton and a young local nurse. Since then we have faithfully served our local community and sought to be God's witnesses here in this place.
Today we are a vibrant community of faith that actively seeks to reach out to people with the love of Jesus.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
— Jeremiah 29:11
Our Mission
Our church exists to reach out to people with the love of Jesus and make disciples.
We believe in the Bible as God's word, mankind's source of wisdom and inspiration, our guide to faith and practice.
We are a spirit filled church that believes in the use of the spiritual gifts today to build and edify the church.
We are church that seeks to reach out to our local community whether they have been here for a long time or whether they are new to the area and indeed new to the country. We are a welcoming home for the aliens and the widows and the orphans as Jesus intended us to be.
33%

67%

We believe in reaching the next generation for Christ. This means that we always seek to reach out to young people and to children with the good news of Jesus Christ. Our church has a good cross-section of people of all ages worshipping together as a church community.
